Electrical Engineer - Now Hiring

Our client's Bay Minette, AL team is seeking a Hot Mill Electrical Engineer to work on site.
This role will report Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability & Automation (EMRA) Leader of the hiring Manufacturing Unit.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for electrical engineering and providing support to contribute to the achievement of the plant's safety, quality, sustainability and budget objectives.
This position will guide and the activities of and keep current with the constantly evolving technology, balancing it with the needs of the operations to bring forth improvements in automated systems and methods.
Responsibilities:
o Adopt the Safety Principles to build a zero-injury culture and the Novelis cultural beliefs of Be Open, Build Trust, Say Anything and Be Authentic!o Participate in discussions on equipment design, detailed engineering with the Mill OEMs and third parties.
o Support equipment installation and commissioning.
o After the Hot Mill startup, support continuing operations through engagement in maintenance and reliability activities.
o Involvement in ongoing sustaining capital improvement activities.
o Recommend new technologies for upgrades and new projects aligned with Novelis proposal to lead key markets and be reference in the market.
o Support maintenance and engineering budget/cost.
Minimum
Qualifications:
o Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
o Minimum Five years of progressive experience as an electrical engineer in an industrial setting.
o Knowledge of electric motor and drive systems.
Previous experience in MV and LV drives performing drive tune-up or extensive and sophisticated troubleshooting and large synchronous and DC motors (Power > 3000HP)o Experience with L1 automation systems (PLC) and basic with HMIs (Siemens preferred).
o Ability to manage projects.
o Knowledge in reliability concepts, particularly RCA and FMEAo Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to connect with all levels in the organization.
o Support and improve a culture based on accountability, continuous improvement and results driven by creating and adopting Key Metrics and annual goals.
o Able to travel up to 30% (North America and Internationally) in the first 1.
5 years.
After that period, the travel will be less than 10%.
o Sponsorship for the United State of America VISA is not offered for this position.
Preferred Skills:
o Steel or Aluminum Rolling process experience.
o Proven understanding of rolling mill basic controls such as thickness, tension, and profile controls as well dynamics involved in mill stand rolling mechanics.
o Understanding of all major component found in a rolling mill.
o Intermediate knowledge of hydraulic systems.
o Previous experience on large capital projects.
o Ability to Influence the organization toward continuous improvement and loss elimination.
Salary:
$39 per hour.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
